was born and raised in Guilderland, NY by owner Saydra Doyle. She saw 

that the world of children's consignment needed a fresh, new look and a strong presence in the Albany area. Having three children herself, she had soon realized the importance of finding top-quality clothing at reasonable prices. And she wasn't alone!

 

 

And so, fourteen years ago, Polkadots was created. The Capital Region finally had a place to buy (and sell!) clothing at prices they could be happy about without sacrificing the same quality and shopping experience you'd find at stores in the mall. When Polkadots became too big for its original location, a new space was designed and the store relocated into a gorgeous (and much larger) new home just a few minutes down the road. Polkadots carries clothing for the entire family (including maternity), as well as housewares, sporting goods, toys, DVDs, baby equipment, jewelry, specialty items such as Fair Trade & USA Made gifts and so much more.

 

As any small business owner knows, creating a successful business is a wonderful experience. But for Saydra, the mission of Polkadots doesn't stop there. Her heart is drawn to the reality that she is

able to help her community through her business. Each year, Polkadots donates thousands of items right back into the hands of local families in need and organizations that are truly making a difference.
